Seller Story
Tim Schut grew up helping his Dad and Grandpa farm near Chester, SD. Those years instilled in him a passion for farming with Allis Chalmers tractors, and liking everything that was just like what his Grandpa Schut had.Tim went on to college and built his career in Business and Financial Management but would come back to farm when he could.
His love of the farm and Allis Chalmers stayed with him and his desire was to someday own a tractor, “just like grandpas”. In 2020 he found this tractor! It was exactly what he was looking for and he was thrilled when he purchased it and was anxious to start restoring it.
June of 2021 he was diagnosed with a rare disease, Apraxia of Speech, that causes difficulty with speech and communicating. Even though he had lost his ability to communicate he still had hopes to restore it until 18 months ago he was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.
Knowing that Tim was not going to realize his dream, his Dad and Brother did some fixing and repairing on the tractor so that Tim was able to drive it a couple of times, which brought him great joy!
Tim’s health is declining rapidly from the two diseases, and he no longer recognizes or appreciates that he owns this tractor. The family has decided to sell it in the hopes that it will find a good home and that it brings as much joy and great memories to them as it did to Tim Schut and his family.
